Cost: Free

Overview

Energy poverty needs to be prioritized at the national level if the transition to net-zero emissions is to be fair and just, and energy efficiency should benefit all Canadians. A recent research report from Efficiency Canada reviews provincial/territorial low-income energy efficiency programs with lessons for federal policy in Canada as it relates to reducing energy poverty and achieving net-zero emissions. This presentation will provide an overview of key findings from the report, including an outline for the most productive role the federal government can play in ensuring energy efficiency helps those most in need.
