V. I. ASHRAE

2024/2025 Board of Governors Nomination

  • Nominations end on the Friday, May 31st at Noon

Dear Valued Vancouver Island ASHRAE Members,

We are seeking enthusiastic members with a passion for a healthy and sustainable built environment for us all – to join our Board of Governor's (BoG).  Beyond our Board, we are also looking for volunteers who are interested in supporting the work of the Board through our committees. As the Chapter President for 2023-2024, I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your current and ongoing support of V.I. ASHRAE Chapter 145.

We are entering an exciting year and future of V.I. ASHRAE, and without your ongoing commitment and support as a Chapter Member, we would not be where we are today.

Once again, we are on the cusp of our annual V.I. Chapter BoG nominations and election and I am encouraging you as a V.I. Chapter Member to become involved with the core workings of your chapter by becoming a Chair or Co-Chair of the Committees in our BoG.  Please note, as far as logistics, you do not have to live in or around Victoria to take on a role as a Chair or Co-Chair in the BoG.  Our monthly BoG meeting is both virtual and in-person, so you can call from anywhere. The meeting times are flexible.  FYI; some of our current BoG members live in Nanaimo and call into meetings on a regular basis.

Nominations are open for the 2024-2025 Vancouver Island ASHRAE Chapter Officers, Committee Chairs, Co-Chairs and members. Self nomination is encouraged!

By volunteering as a BoG Officer, Committee Chair or Co-Chair, you will be part of an integral team that keeps our local V.I. ASHRAE Chapter moving forward, providing content for dinner meetings, highlighting local building design, mechanical innovation, and demonstrating leadership, up to the Society level.  The benefits of becoming a BoG member are very exciting, self-rewarding and very informative as you learn the inner workings of both Chair/Co-Chair contributions on a Chapter level and the far-reaching impact of your volunteer time has on the overall brand of ASHRAE.  This is a great way to great way to contribute your skills and experience to the betterment of humanity.

V. I. ASHRAE is committed to recruiting and supporting skilled candidates for the BoG that reflect the diversity of our communities.  We encourage participation from including but not limited to minorities, women, ethnic diversities, persons with disabilities, members of First Nations’, and LGBTQIA+ communities.

Please consider becoming involved with ASHRAE on a Chapter Board Level and nominate yourself or some you know, that you think will make a significant contribution to well being of ASHRAE.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Chapter President at ashrae145@gmail.
